1. Performance, Performance, Performance:

Android is an absolutely awesome open source mobile OS for smartphones. The only problem is that with manufacturer’s own version of UI layered upon with bloatware, the performance of the phone could become sluggish, and thus ruining your phone usability. With every update of Android, the performance of the hardware just gets better and better. Rooting your phone and installing your own custom ROMs available online gives a new lease of life even to the first generation of Android Phones. And we are talking stuff like – New windows opening up faster, App menus loading faster and UIs being more responsive.

2. Hardware / Software Interaction:

Stock Android installations often tend to have bottlenecks when it comes to performance. With a rooted Android OS, this is removed and hence the performance is tweaked. Overclocking the processor is much easier, and even certain functionalities can be enabled which are not present in the default install – e.g. CPU and GPU overclock to boost performance, 3D acceleration and gaming.

3. Freedom:

Take for example my Android phone – Samsung Galaxy S duos. It came with Android 4.0.4 (or the ics), and I hate to wait for bloody ages to get the carriers upgrade it to jellybean. It will eventually be done, but I will have to wait for ages for the update. If I have my phone rooted, I could easily upgrade my phone with the readily available custom ROM.

4. Apps2SD:

One of the most important features that rooted phones support is that you can install Apps to the SD Card, instead of clogging up the phone memory. Although, the performance of apps which are installed on the SD card is a bit inferior to the ones on phone. This comes in very handy when you need to backup Apps, since most of the 1st and 2nd generation Android phones don’t come with a lot of internal memory.

5. Unavailable features:

With the root, features such as face unlock, google now and many more will surface through a custom rom update. also with the features of installing a custom recovery such as clockworkmod recovery to be able to backup your stock ROM for crashing days.

6. Multi-touch:

This is yet another major feature which is enabled by rooting your phone. ‘Nuff said. mostly for first generation android devices

7. WiFi and Bluetooth tethering:

With this functionality enabled, you can share your cellular data connectivity to be used by your PC/Laptop. There are several apps available which can assist you to establish a tethering connection, but these only work with rooted phones of the first generation android that lacks this feature.

8. Better keyboard:

Not that we don’t love what Samsung, or Motorola or HTC have to offer – or any of the other paid apps offering keyboard layouts , but custom ROMS have their awesome input methods that make me go hmmm! and being able to delete stock keyboard and replace with any desired one

9. Apps from other builds:

The whole wide world of the Android market is your oyster. But also, you can get apps from Custom ROMs which are integrated from other builds – such as Switchers that can toggle WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth, GPS , Microsoft Exchange to support work mail, etc. etc. The list is endless (Well, not endless really, but you know what I mean).

10. Because you can:

The most ultimate reason. Because you are the BOSS. It’s your phone which you paid your hard earned money for. And you are not letting the shitty default installation ruin the experience for you.

Current Version: 1.9.7B102
Requires Android: 1.6 and up
Category: Productivity
Size: 77k

What’s in this version:

Add option to turn off notice of auto kill
Add menu button for devices don’t have menu key
Move Check button to menu
Fix wrong detail issue
Remove error log from bug report
Compiled under 4.1 platform
Details:
Advanced Task Killer is also known as ATK. It is a tool to kill applications running. This version is pro version which doesn’t contain ads.

ATK is often used to kill apps and clean memory. We do suggest people use ATK manually kill apps instead of auto killing apps.

-Ignore List
-One tap widget
-Auto kill
-Customize item height

1. How to use it (for new users to quick start)?

It is pretty simple. Open this tool and take a look at the running applications list? Uncheck some apps you don’t want to kill (such as Advanced Task Killer and some system apps) Tap the button ’Kill selected apps’, it will kill all applications checked.

2. How to use it (for new users to do more)?

If you don’t want to kill any application, you can tap it on the running applications list. Then it’s checking box will turn to gray.

3. Why there are programs running that I haven’t used or even opened?

Some applications will start up once you turn on your phone or be invoked by some events.

4. What is ignore list/ignore?

Ignore list is for you to ignore some applications you don’t want to kill. If you long press on the application listed on the main screen of ATK, the menu will pop up, then you can select ’Ignore’, the application would be moved to ignore list. When you tap ’Kill selected apps’, it won’t be killed any more.

5. What is default action for long press?

You can set your default action for long press and click on the settings. The system default action for long press is pop-menu. That means you when you long press on the application(displays on the running applications list), a pop-menu would shows up. For example, if you want to switch to the application after you long press on it, you can set the default action of long press to ’Switch to’.

6. Why I lost my network connection after I tap ’kill selected apps’?

This is because some apps related with network connection are killed. Such as ’voicemail’. You can ignore it instead of killing it.

7. Why my Home reloaded?

This is because some apps related with Home are killed. Such as ’HTC Sense’, ’Mail’(if it is integrated with Home). You can ignore it instead of killing it.

8. Why I cannot receive notification of Email?

This is because you killed ’Email’. Instead of killing it, you need to ignore it.

9. What is Auto Kill?

If you want to kill apps automatically you need to choose one of auto-kill level

- Safe: Only kill the apps aren’t running but still consume memory.

- Aggressive: Kill the apps running background and apps aren’t running.

- Crazy: All apps except for apps you are using with.

You should be able to see Auto Kill information shows on the title, like ’Auto-Kill: 12:20’. That means auto kill will start at 12:20, you can also change the frequency to impact the auto kill start time.

Note: For android 2.2 and later version, task manager cannot kill services and front apps, you have to force stop them. If you use task manager to kill them, services might restart, also notification won’t be ereased from the top bar. So we don’t suggest people use task manager kill them

This actually doesn't increase memory but some dump sys files are moved to sd card and clears up lot of internal memory I got more than 100 mb I'm using it now no problems detected.

Follow these simple steps carefully

1. Dial *#9900#
2. Now click copy to sd card
3. wait for some while

Check out your internal memory

This was only tested on Galaxy Y and it worked fine try it in other android mobiles at  your own risk.

Don't forget to drop a comment.
